Inequivalence of five-dimensional relativity and Brans-Dicke theory

Abstract

We present a static spherically symmetric solution to the field equations RAB=0 in five-dimensional relativity and use it to demonstrate a significant inequivalence between five-dimensional relativity and the Brans-Dicke scalar-tensor theory.
