Abstract

Two new [neougonins A (1) and B (2)] and nine known prenylated flavonoids were isolated from the whole plants of Helminthostachys zeylanica. The structures of the new isolates were elucidated by extensive NMR techniques, including one and two dimensional (1D)- and (2D)-NMR experiments, as well as comparison with spectroscopic data of known analogous compounds. Moreover, compound 1 inhibited lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW264.7 cells with an IC₅₀ value of 3.32 µM.
