The indoor topology is the foundation of most indoor location-based services. A complete indoor network includes "floor-level paths" and "non-level paths", such as stairs, elevators, escalators, ramps, etc. Unlike those studies that merely discussedthe generation of floor-level paths. i-GIT algorithm is one of the few studies considering both floor-level paths and non-level paths. However, the part of i-GIT algorithm that produces "Stair-Flight paths" only applies to those stair models under specific modeling parameters. These limitations tremendously restrain the applicability of the algorithm. Based on the same framework of indoor topology adopted by i-GIT algorithm, this study proposes a novel perspective algorithm for producing "Stair-Flight paths". The test results show that the revised algorithm can be applied to 12 combinations of modeling parameters of the stairs commonly used in most BIM software, which greatly broadens the applicability of i-GIT algorithm.
